When Eye Muscles Don't Work Together
For many people, their eyes focus independently, meaning they don’t “converge” on the same point at the same time (called a convergence insufficiency). Struggling readers' eyes often make backwards movements (called regressions), with each regression indicating a loss of attention control, similar to ADHD, making it hard for the reader to comprehend and remember what they are reading. A high number of regressions can sometimes make the words looks like they’re moving on the page, similar to dyslexia.
Our unique Reading Vision curriculum promotes proper eye-convergence and eye-teaming, and widens the focal zone so that you can see the entire word or phrase at the same time. This reduces regressions while minimizing the effects of convergence insufficiency, a condition commonly caused by various forms of strabismus (lazy-eye), or a head injury, and minimizes excess convergence/amblyopia (cross-eyed).
When combined with reading intervention, the end result is usually dramatically improved reading ability. Some children go from reading below grade level from vision problems, to reading above grade level, within a matter of weeks. People also report improvements in visual skills and attention disorders, as well as reduced eye-strain, headaches, motion sickness, and improved hand-eye coordination.

Reading Vision Tutoring
Our Reading Vision curriculum takes a comprehensive approach, addressing eye teaming and tracking problems, combined with high-impact reading tutoring. It is a vision-based reading program for kids.
Your Reading Vision Assessment will consist of a 15-minute assessment with Dr. McMurray and/or a Certified Reading Vision Assessment Specialist, conducted online via Zoom. They will analyze the patterns of your eye movement and assess your current reading level. Other companies charge $150 to $600 for a diagnostic assessment. We only charge $125 for our Reading Vision Assessment.
The Assessment is followed by a consultation with a Certified Reading Vision Tutor, to discuss the findings and answer any questions you have.
If we suspect you may have a clinical-grade eye disorder, we'll refer you to a licensed specialist. However, for non-medical issues, our progressive sequence of eye exercises have helped other students and may help you, too, especially when paired with our innovative reading intervention. There is only one way to find out.
Reading Vision Tutoring is having a one-on-one online reading tutor with vision support, via carefully designed daily eye exercises developed by a neuroscience educator to help retrain the 12 muscles responsible for moving the eyes together.
Once you begin, you will receive a Training Kit in the mail, with custom-built tools you will use for your eye exercises to help retrain your eye muscles. Your Reading Vision Tutor will walk you through multiple levels of eye exercises as you progress.
The 1:1 online reading coaching with your Certified Reading Vision Tutor consists of 30-minute sessions via Zoom, 2 times per week, so that the coach can observe your eye-tracking progress while doing high-impact tutoring, and make adjustments to your eye exercises accordingly.
Most children need around 6 months of tutoring for optimal results, but many start seeing noticeable improvements in as little as 30 days, confirming that it works!
Most adults achieve lasting success within 6 to 8 weeks.
